Clients can save a payment card on file for faster checkout and recurring payments. Card data is stored securely through the payment processor — your system never sees the full card number.

Saving a Card on File

  1. During a Payment
When processing a card payment, check the Save card for future payments checkbox before clicking Process Payment.
  2. Confirm with the Client
Always ask the client's permission before saving their card. They should understand it will be stored securely.
  3. Card Is Saved
After successful payment, the card appears in the client's "Saved Cards" section showing the last 4 digits and expiration date.

Charging a Saved Card

  1. Start a New Payment
On the client's billing tab, click + New Payment.
  2. Select the Saved Card
Instead of entering new card details, select the saved card from the dropdown (shown as "Visa ending 4242").
  3. Enter Amount and Process
Enter the amount and click Process Payment. No card details need to be re-entered.

Client authorization required. Always get verbal or written consent before charging a saved card. Never charge a saved card without the client's knowledge.

Managing Saved Cards

View and manage saved cards from the client's profile:

  • View — See last 4 digits, card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), and expiration
  • Delete — Remove a card from the client's account (click the trash icon next to the card)
  • Set Default — Mark one card as the default for quick selection

Security Notes

  • Full card numbers are never stored in the system
  • Card data is encrypted and managed by the payment processor
  • Staff can only see the last 4 digits and card type
  • Deleting a saved card removes it permanently
